The Rockets' Red Glare

If there's one thing that America's good at, it's blowing stuff up. July 4 is sort of about independence and so forth, but it's really about what new colors and effects of fireworks they came up with in the past year. And there were several in the annual Florissant display, although the finale was a bit shorter than we're used to. Owell. Also, it was about the space shuttle, the one thing that got shot off and didn't blow up. Apparently, it reached orbit without mishap, defying my earlier predictions. That's why I'm not in a position to make decisions yet. They've still got 11 days of work to do. We'll see how it goes.

North Korea, on the other hand, is not good at blowing stuff up. Yesterday they defied international orders, common sense, and in general, everything that is right and good by test-firing a bunch of missiles, including their (formerly) feared long range one. By doing so, they've isolated themselves moreso and here's the thing... IT DIDN'T EVEN WORK!!! If you're going to thumb your nose at the international community, then you owe it to us to at least have a gosh friggin' working missile. I think instead of sanctions and resolutions and so forth, we should declare International Point and Laugh at North Korea day. They are the obnoxious whiny child of the UN, and that's the only reasoning they'll understand.
